Subsurfaces: Description Builder

TabLogs Description Code Builder allows you to select elements from your subsurface workflow and apply them in certain order based on different condition sets.
We always recommend you start with a pre existing description and then edit yours from there. This will make the learning curve much simpler.
Descriptions are made up of two different components:
Variations: this allows you to apply a single rule to all items nested within it, eg you can set when Soil Type = Clay, all elements inside the variation will then automatically have that rule applied

Elements: these are the text items that will appear in the string, you can additional rules at the element level if required
Visually this can be easier to understand, elements are nested inside of variations

There are the following fields inside the workflow:

Template Name: This is how it will appear in the description preview screen
Link String to Value: Here you can choose what data will display in the element, either a workflow step, classification code, or classification name
Select Workflow Step: This allows you to pick any step in your workflow and display it in the configuration, formatting will come later
Use abbreviation: When building your workflow you can add abbreviations in to be used here in your descriptions, an example may be displaying moisture content as W instead of Wet.
